The second half of Chapter 4 sucks.

It has always sucked, it will always suck.  Its state of suckitude was chiseled into marble on the day the world was born.  That monument shall stand past the day human civilization implodes, leaving only a handful of survivors to read its words.  And when, thousands of years in the future, a new civilization develops the ability and desire to translate that ancient artifact, they shall rue the resources wasted on the project because Chapter 4's extreme suckitude is so glaringly obvious, its existence will have already permeated the collective consciousness, handed down through the generations, and will evermore be spoken of in the hushed tones reserved for brain-sucking demons and flesh-eating pestilence.

I'm moving on to Chapter 5.

Isn't it wonderful that our writing can have such a profound effect?

-Hugs-

See, this sounds like an amazing achievement in and of itself. Admittedly, maybe not quite what you were aiming for.

Writer's gloom: The absolute unshakeable conviction that your work is horrid, that the piece you've been slaving over is fit only for birdcage liner / a waste of perfectly good electrons, that you've been deluding yourself about any ability you might have to string three words together in an entertaining or insightful or even coherent fashion, and that you'd be much better off chucking the MS / computer off the nearest cliff and getting a job scrubbing toilets, because then at least the crap you'd be exposed to every day wouldn't be your own.

I know that feeling. ::HUGS::

My motto (which is difficult to adhere to sometimes) is: Everything can be fixed later.

I love how we come up with creative ways on how things suck. My favorite one I like to use is "I suck. I suck on cheese. I suck on crackers. I suck on toast. I suck, suck, suck, suckity suck suck."

By the end of that, I've come up with so many creative ways I've sucked, by then, I begin to feel better.

As me how many dozens of redos the recent chapter ten went through . . . before I could call it a rough draft.

Heh. I have resorted to brainstorming ways to completely cut the section. But if I do that, I just have to find a different way to move the same plot point anyway!
