The 7-7-7 (minus) 7 Game
Sep. 17th, 2015 04:45 pmThe dear and wonderful
asakiyume tagged me for the meme, and I like playing along so...
The idea is to go to the 7th page of your current WIP, go down to the seventh line, and share the next seven lines. But I'm not going to tag seven other writers because, as she says, that's a lot folks! So I'm going to leave it wide open to any and all who want to play here in the comments or on their own site.
Here's the seven after the first seven of the seventh (which sounds rather Biblical, yes?) from Breath of Stone:
...and the hurt was growing harder to ignore. The fog snaking through his thoughts warned Pyrius he had yet to feel the worst.
A pair of scuffs over grit was all the warning Ehren gave before he tackled the Blade. Aleena snatched up the crossbow as he fell, cranked it, and dropped a new bolt in the groove. By the time Ehren yanked the man to his feet, arm hooked around his neck, Aleena had the crossbow leveled and steady.
"It's a very tight trigger," the man rasped, empty hands held out.
Aleena tapped the trigger to make him flinch. "Then you'd better talk fast and true."
Now! Who wants to play? :)
